Dear Intercessor,
“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” — Psalm 145:4DFW Prayer Alliance has stepped into a new season, one that calls us to look beyond our own lives and lift our eyes toward the generations that follow us. Our next assignment is to pray for all generations, asking the Lord to awaken a fresh hunger for His presence in our hearts, our homes, and our communities.
We believe the hunger we carry for the Lord should not end with us. It is a legacy meant to be cultivated, lived out, and passed down from one generation to the next. We are praying for homes where prayer is a way of life, the Word of God is treasured, and every generation has the opportunity to encounter the living God and grow in love for Him.
Our desire is not simply to see a generation that knows about God, but generations that truly know Him, love His presence, and hunger for His righteousness.
Standing in the Gap for the Next Generation
From October 2 through December 18, DFW Prayer Alliance is embarking on a focused journey of prayer for the generations, beginning with Generation Z. Guided by Psalm 145:4, we are reminded of our responsibility to declare the goodness and faithfulness of God to those who come after us.
We are praying for young people to discover their identity and purpose in Christ, walk in holiness, and stand firm in their faith in a world filled with competing voices. We are asking God to renew their minds, guard their hearts, replace fear with faith, and give them courage to live according to His truth.
As 1 Timothy 4:12 reminds us, young people are called to be examples in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. We believe God is raising up a generation that will carry His light into their schools, universities, workplaces, and communities. We are also praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that awakens hearts, stirs revival, and draws young people into a deeper relationship with Jesus.
A Hunger That Begins at Home
The legacy of faith is often cultivated in the everyday moments of our lives. It is formed through prayers spoken in our homes, Scripture shared with our families, worship, and the decision to seek the Lord together.
We are asking God to fill our homes with a renewed hunger for Him. May prayer become more than a routine, and may our homes become places where His presence is welcomed, His Word is honored, and His love is demonstrated.
We cannot manufacture spiritual hunger in another person, but we can pray for hearts to be awakened and model what it means to pursue Jesus in every season. May children see their parents seek the Lord, young adults discover a faith they can personally own, and older generations continue sharing testimonies of God's faithfulness.
From One Generation to Another
Psalm 145:4 gives us a beautiful picture of spiritual legacy: one generation declaring the works of God to another. As intercessors, we have the privilege and responsibility to stand in the gap for those growing up in a world that desperately needs the truth, hope, and love of Jesus.
This season invites us to consider what we are passing down. Are we cultivating a legacy of prayer, obedience, faith, and wholehearted devotion to the Lord? Are we sharing His goodness and making room for the next generation to encounter Him for themselves?
Our calling is not simply to remember what God has done, but to remain faithful today while believing Him for what He desires to do in the generations to come.
Join Us in Prayer
As DFW Prayer Alliance moves through this new season, we invite you to join us in praying for every generation. Pray for children, teenagers, young adults, parents, and elders. Ask the Lord to awaken hearts, strengthen families, and raise up faithful witnesses who will carry His name with boldness.
Our prayer is that the fire of devotion to Jesus would burn brightly in our generation and continue burning in the generations to come. May our homes be filled with hunger for the Lord, our lives reflect His faithfulness, and our legacy be one of wholehearted pursuit of His presence.
Let this be a season in which we stand in the gap, contend in prayer, and believe God for a generational awakening.
One generation shall praise His works to another. May that legacy begin with us.
Blessings,
DFW PRAYER ALLIANCE
